LUKE PICKETT
Luke Pickett is an exciting evolution of the singer-songwriter. One of the UK's most popular acoustic artist on the famed MySpace network, Luke is growing an army of fans across the world with his angelic and soulful voice, passionate and cinematic story-telling and intense live performances.
His songs are heart wrenching stories outlined by divine melodies, intelligent and hooky guitar lines set in subtly epic productions with Luke Pickett's unique soaring vocals and signature falsetto. This young man has a way of spinning a classic love tale into an romantic twisted musical sonnet. Luke Pickett is the troubadour sent back from the future to wake us up from the banality of shoe-gazing retro hippies.
GAVIN BUTLER (of The Blackout)
Gavin Butler returns to Swindon, nearly a year after selling out The 12 Bar with his band THE BLACKOUT this time he brings an acoustic guitar and a hand full of songs, this will be one of his first performances after very successful performance's at Slam Dunk Festival's in Hatfield and Leed's. On both those occasions he was joined by band mate Sean Smith, will we get any guests or just find one of this rising stars as he evolves into a brand new artistto be respected himself!
CHARLIE BATH
Leeds (UK) based singer songwriter & Producer Charlie Bath is an exciting new songstress that brings her own inimitable brand of acoustic romance to the singer songwriter genre. Brought up on the likes of seminal artists Joni Mitchell, James Taylor & Stevie Wonder and more recently influenced by artists such as Ryan Adams, Band of Horses, John Mayor & City and Colour, Charlie's music has "it's own voice and what a voice it is." (Green Man Music)
This Long awaited debut has been welcomed by both the critics and fans as a "breath of fresh air", whilst commonly considered to "encapsulate all the best of Joni Mitchell, Lucinda Williams and Carole king. While all along, holding that gritty edge seen in acts like Chrissie Hynde, Chuck Ragan and Dallas Green." (No Title Magazine).

The Shocks Of Mighty Sound System is owned by Johnny Rench. He is currently using it as a huge bass amp in his band so he gets a really fat big bass sound! A regular club night is being run by Pop-A-Top Records at The Victoria in Swindon where we use the in house PA system. The Shocks Of Mighty Reggae Club Nights (as they are known) run every other month.
The Shocks Of Mighty idea came about in 2003. Around the time when Pop-A-Top Records was first launched. Initially set up by Johnny Rench, Nevil Banton and Erin Bardwell. A platform to launch reggae nights with Erin & Johnny as the selectors and Nevil as the DJ. The idea was to play their own music (Pop-A-Top recordings) along side classic West Indian & associated music from the 1950s to present day. With a huge focus on the 60s period (ska, rocksteady and skinhead reggae). But with a healthy dose of 70s dub, roots and lovers as well as 80s dancehall up to present day. With a sprinkling of calypso, mento and Jamaican R&B you had the ingredients of a good night out and a filled dance floor. Modern bands playing in a retro style are also on the play list. The Shocks Of Mighty name came from the Lee Perry produced Dave Barker classic. Quickly decided one night by Erin & Johnny after they were booked to do a set at the Modrapheniacs scooter rally in 2003. A name had to be put in the programme! Erin, Johnny & Nevil had all been DJing reggae & ska for years with other people but the time had come to bring it all together under one banner.

You just have to play, sing, tell jokes / poems, or whatever, in your 15minutes (which is 3 songs). The night ends at 11pm, and everyone goes home fulfilled / drunk / sober etc.

Back in the 70’s Stray was one of the hardest gigging, and consistently excellent live acts on the circuit. Long term Stray fans Iron Maiden recorded Del’s “All In Your Mind”, and subsequently Stray toured extensively across Europe with Maiden, receiving a great reception in many East European territories where the band had never played before. With the brand new re-issue programme and the fiery guitarist Del Bromham at the top of his form, the new Stray line-up of Stuart Uren, Karl Randall and of course Del Bromham, are setting a new standard for one of Britain’s most enduring guitar led rock bands
