The Night of The Ocelot

Ladies and Gentlemen, we are proud to announce The Ocelot will be running an evening of live musical entertainment at The Victoria completely free of charge, bringing you some of the most impressive acts from the wider Ocelotshire region!

We have brought together a damn fine line-up if we do say so ourselves, with a real quality and charm about each and every act!

// FREE ENTRY \
// THE VICTORIA, SWINDON \
// 8PM \
// 16+ \

********* LITTLE BROTHER ELI *********
Our headliners for the evening are truly a force to be reckoned with. Hailing from Oxford, Little Brother Eli are champions of the bluesy garage rock sound, with acts like Jack White and his associates immediately coming to mind when you stick on their latest release Oceans (which was released on YouTube in February)

They are a band that has drawn the attention of national press including TeamRock, BBC 6Music and more captivating audiences with their driving sound and spectacularly written tunes that step the border between classic influences and a plan for the future.
The band was formed in Oxford during early 2013 by bassist Josh Rigal and vocalist Alex Grew.

The pair were joined by guitarist Adam Stowe and drummer Benji Page who began sharing their eclectic mix of musical influences along with lap steel specialist Tom Williams, and their influence is spreading exponentially. They have already been announced for several festival slots this year including Are You Listening, Wildfire and Witney Music Festival.

We cannot emphasise enough how happy we are to have these boys as part of The Night of The Ocelot, and we know that you will be dancing the night away at The Vic when Little Brother Eli get into their groove.

Check them out online at: www.littlebrothereli.com

********* HIP ROUTE *********

If you havent heard these guys already, we will be hugely surprised. We might even be shocked!

Hip Route are a slide guitar wielding, rootsy blues rocking trio from the Swindon area, so weve got the local angle covered in a big way here!

In all honesty, these guys could have easily been our headliners for the night, they are simply incredible live with front-man Jim Blairs immense guitar skills shining out amidst a brilliantly skilled rhythm section to create a wall of almost primal, driving and pulsating music. Youll be involuntarily tapping your feet within seconds, guaranteed.

Check them out online via: www.hiproute.com

********* BRADLEY COWTAN *********

Young Bradley hails from Royal Wootton Bassett and currently studies at the Academy of Music and Sound in central Swindon, pushing his brand of thoughtful, charming acoustic pop across the local scene.

Releasing his Catfish Part 2 EP via a live BBC Wiltshire session in February, Bradley has impressed us with his professionalism and dedication to his music, and thoroughly deserves the spotlight we threw on him in last months Ocelot Presents.

The Night of The Ocelot is all about celebrating our regions music scene and presenting people with the very best that the area has to offer, including the up and coming artists on your doorstep. To this end, we think Mr Cowtan is the best opener for the job and shows that live music in Ocelotshire is in safe hands indeed.

Plus he doesnt have to go to college in the morning we are told...

Check out Bradleys corner of the internet here: www.bradleycowtan.com

Featuring some of the best regional talent, all with a super cool theme.

Full details to be announced soon!

Motley Crude

Mötley Crüde are a UK based tribute to the Lewd, Crüed & Tattooed rockers from the Los Angeles Sunset Strip!

Originally started in late 2015, Mötley Crüde have quickly become recognised by Crüe fans as the band that you have to see if you want the authentic real deal visually and musically. The set list is comprised of songs from the bands first album Too Fast For Love (1981) to Saints Of Los Angeles (2008) and absolutely everything in-between!

Mötley Crüde are based in the UK and are available for bookings anywhere in the UK as well as Europe, Asia, USA and the Middle East

Mötley Crüe was an American metal band formed in Los Angeles, California on January 17, 1981. The group was founded by bassist Nikki Sixx and drummer Tommy Lee, lead vocalist Vince Neil and lead guitarist Mick Mars. Mötley Crüe has sold more than 100 million records worldwide including 25 million in the US.

The members of the band have often been noted for their hedonistic lifestyles and the persona they maintained. Diagonal People + Special Guests

Diagonal People are a multi-faceted and multi-tentacled esoteric art demon sprawling from the suburbs, slums and shorelines of Swindon.
A self prescribed “Post-Genre Fusion-Pop Earthquake-tribe Adam-and-eve self-revolving collective of preposterous young upstarts viciously and passionately trying to alienate and seduce at once with sonic sounds for the body, brain, heart, bones and ass.
Forging things to dance to with the entirety of your self, to cast your form back to the days of mammoth tusk flutes and fluttering cave drums, before you even realise what astralillicly jazzed doo-wop electronica has been unleashed upon your heavenly heathen ears.
A thematic, high concept explosion of aural manipulation, make-up, costume, lighting, firework, video, history, design, technology and textural/melodic/rhythmic divine intervention. A boiling pot of undulating lineups and fluid instrumentation stretching from fire extinguishers to samplers to everything and anything in between.
With influences from all over the universe and with inspirations and ambitions beyond it, Diagonal people are desperate to give and desperate to explore, affirm and shape the things around them.

The Rolling Clones

Established i n 1997 The Rolling Clones fast became the leading Tribute to The Stones and its not hard to see why....

Keith Richards cannot be killed by conventional weapons - Del Preston, Waynes World 2.

We are choosing to believe this is true. How else could you explain the fact that despite 50 years of death, drugs, destruction and falling out of coconut trees the greatest show on earth is still on the road? While not quite of the same vintage, the Rollin Clones have been entertaining crowds across the country for over 19 years, distilling the show down to a pure hit of Rock n Roll, with a chaser of sequinned glam.

From the early days of the Rhythm and Blues, through to the excesses of the 70s, The Rollin Clones Rock n Roll show is a faithful interpretation of the biggest band ever’s greatest hits, delivered with a smirk and a wink, recalling the mischief making of Mr Jagger himself, remaining true to the spirit of the originals.

TERA 45

TERRA 45 are a 3 piece fun original punk band from sunny Swindon who are in the midst in getting more popular with the public. We released our 11 track debut CD album on 2nd December 2016 and hope to release our second album in 2017. We have our personal strong views about life in general and much is written about how people interact with each other. One of our concerns as a band is that we struggle to get booked for dates at times because certain pubs/venues only want cover bands, but on a positive note, many venues so far have shaken our hands with compliments!

PEOPLE LIKE US

People Like US (P.L.US!) are an exciting Semi-Acoustic four piece band from Wiltshire. A unique and unorthodox act which features keys, bass, electro-acoustic cajon, kick drum/percussion, 12-string acoustic, 2 lead female and 2 lead male voices along with superb 3/4 four part harmonies.
Since forming last year they have wowed audiences with their highly entertaining mix of dialogue and musicianship. They are guaranteed to have you in the palm of their collective hand with exceptional and intricate covers of artists ranging from Radiohead to E.L.O to Pink Floyd.
Expect the unexpected!

PLUCKING DIFFERENT

Plucking Different are the UKs #1 high-energy alternative ukulele band performing an eclectic mix of feel-good songs that will have you dancing in the aisles and grinning from ear to ear.

Formed in 2014, Plucking Different quickly evolved into a favourite live act on the music scene performing at festivals, music venues, pubs and private parties.

The bands popularity is defined by their unique approach to classic songs, which differentiates the aptly named Plucking Different from your average covers or ukulele band. Every member of the band plays a uke and joins in lead or backing harmony vocals. This is underpinned by live percussion, bass guitar, energy, enthusiasm and friendly banter on and off stage.

The end result is an entertaining feel-good party environment for everyone young and old - including the band members.

REEL TIME

Probably the best, and only, bluegrass fusion group in Swindon, we are a group of friends playing the finest in folk, bluegrass and ballads. Our music is a melting pot of styles combining traditional Irish and Scottish tunes with American bluegrass rhythms to deliver foot-tapping tunes and memorable melodies. Keyboard dexterity is complemented by soulful violin and pulsing guitar. Add to this banjo beats and old country mandolin and you have an experience to remember. Fresh from performances in Reading and around Swindon , we add the Yee Haw to the Fringe – so prepare to be amazed.

SPUNKING OCTOCHOKE

We are a 2-bit spunk rock band who like to get it all out and we go all out. All over the place. In your face. You wont know what hit you, and you wont want to know. But youll love it. Hey... Come again?

Dealer + Serafine

For the first time in over 30 years Cirencester Heavy Metal band DEALER
return to Swindon for a gig at the
Victoria on April 6th.

Dealer retired in 1988,but reformed in 2010 for what was supposed to be a
one - off reunion show. This show led to a resurgence in their popularity especially around Europe, seeing them tour Russia in 2011 and subsequent festivals across the continent.

However, the past 6 years have been a turbulent time for the Ciren 4 piece.
Losing original bass player
Pete Gentil in a motorcycle accident in 2013, Trevor the singer had a heart
attack in 2015 and then in 2016
lead guitarist Steve Peril suffered an incurable injury to his left hand
forcing him to retire from the band.

But DEALER are a persistent bunch to say the least and Trevor and his band
will be performing at full
throttle on April 6th playing material from their early days last seen at
Level 3 and at The Kingsdown,
through their debut album First Strike released in1986 to brand new
DEALER metal anthems.

VICFEST 2017 - DAY 2

A WAY WITH WORDS

In a little over 18 months A Way With Words have gone from being just another local alt-rock outfit among many to being one of the few local bands that can pretty much sell out The Victoria on a local, original bill.
A brash, exciting and assertive band, they combine big riffs, infectious choruses and a euphoric stage show, so that even when playing modest local venues it still feels like Wembley Arena. Walking a line that steers them clear of rock cliches yet doesn t compromise either, this is rock music very much living in the now - The Ocelot

PLUMMIE RACKET AND THE DICEMEN

Plummie Racket has been gigging in and around town here there and every where for the last 8 years landing support slots with Space, Sham 69, Twisted Wheel, Inspiral Carpets and many more taking him on tours of Germany for the last 3 years armed with only an acoustic.
Now with a full band line up the sound has been transformed, records have been made and are ready to gig making this not a show to be missed!

RAZE REBUILD

Raze Rebuild formed in early 2014 when singer/songwriter Si, met producer/engineer Paj, initially with the intention of making a solo acoustic demo. Matt was drafted in to play some lead guitar. Friends Phil Hamer and Rich Millin kindly added bass and drums before Paj completed the remaining bass parts. It no longer sounded like a solo record and the band, initially called Coasters was born. Matt, Paj and Si remained together, recruiting first Leks Wood, then Skiddy and now Jamie to bang the drums. Debut e.p. The Shape of Our Words was released via Secret Chord Records in Autumn 2014.

Influenced by lots of different genres, rock, punk, folk, indie, country themes pop up in all songs. A band that is aiming for well-crafted, heartfelt tunes, with big choruses and catchy hooks - in the Vein of Dave Hause, Chuck Ragan, Gaslight Anthem etc.

Lyrically, songs tend to touch on love, loss, being in bands that dont get anywhere, neurosis, apologies and hope, Theres not really a rule book.

LETS SWIN, GET SWIMMING
Lets Swim, Get Swimming (LSGS) are a gnarly math rock band born in the heart of Surrey.

VICFEST 17

VICFEST 2017 - DAY 3

CRAZY TOWN

Headlining VICFEST DAY III - all the way from the U.S.A!!

When the new millennium arrived the music industry was in the midst of a new music revolution. The free delivery via shared files online created a new outlaw brand, that would prove instrumental in the way music would be not just delivered but created. One of the breakout bands to not just embrace but help shift the tectonic plates of the music industry was Crazy Town. As one of the first hybrid brands, they brought a new ball into the game. Equal parts urban and suburban, Chevrolet and Bentley, they rolled onto the music scene with a slow build that erupted when a Butterfly entered the room. The two founding members, Seth Binzer and Bret Mazur were introduced to each other by WILL I AM of the BLACK EYED PEAS. Binzer brought in his long-time friend DJ AM and Crazytown was born.

The band was all the buzz in the industry, the talk of LA. Crazytown-mania created a classic Hollywood record label bidding war in which Columbia Records ultimately won. It was the Columbia/Sony worldwide reach which appealed the most to Crazytown and that reach had them touring the world and eventually garnered them a number 1 record in more than 15 countries, and selling more than 6 million copies of their first album, THE GIFT OF GAME. The success of their worldwide smash hit Butterfly in 2001was inescapable and reached iconic status.

SN DUBSTATION

SN Dubstation are a Swindon based reggae/Dub/Ska band. Merging influence from all genres of music, their sound will get you into party mode.

The sound merges trippy synths, twangy guitars, melodic horns, pounding bass lines and beats you can't help but move to.
