#SaveSwindon Returns:

After such a response from our first #SaveSwindon campaign party, we are incredibly excited to say we are returning to The Victoria on Sunday the 27th August to raise the roof for the 2nd time round!

As many people are aware, more and more of our clubs/venues are closing up and down the UK, theyre being bought out by corporate companies & men in suits - and turning some of our favourite raving spots into flats/offices/every kind of place to destroy our towns.

We, the people, have the power. Join us, for our next campaign party - set to be bigger & better than ever, lets dance! 💃🏼🔊

Again, we are welcoming everyone in at total FREE ENTRY.

Felix and The Funk

With a set list ranging from massive floor fillers by Bruno Mars, Daft Punk, Maroon 5, John Newman and Black Eyed Peas through to the stone cold funk of James Brown, Jamiroquai and Wild Cherry, Felix and the Funk play something to get everyone on their feet. Its the perfect soundtrack for a gig, party or wedding.

Mixed in with huge hits by the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, plus classic soul cuts by Stevie Wonder, Sam and Dave and Bill Withers, the scene is set for an evening of rare grooves, old and new.

Theres even bona fide disco classics by Earth Wind and Fire, Chic and Rose Royce, and dance favourites by the likes of Moloko, Deee-Lite and Modjo so theres really no excuse to stay in your seat. And thats not all we do...

Rorkes Drift

Rorkes Drift is a 4 piece rock covers band from the Swindon area. We cover all sorts, from Metallica through to Bon Jovi and everything else in between. We pride ourselves on putting on a fun performance with enough cheesy one liners and banter to put a smile on the most serious of faces. We will also throw a few curve balls into the set, so youre never quite sure what song is coming next. Being able to tailor a set for certain venues is no problem, with the option for a heavier or lighter set if required.

Slagerjij + Orange

CRUCIAL TALENT PRESENTS:

A DOUBLE HEADER SHOW WITH...

Local ska-punk legends SLAGERIJ return back home to The Victoria, Swindon as part of their UK tour alongside exciting pop-punkers ORANGE from L.A.!!

Slagerij:

Slagerij formed in 2007 and are a high energy 3 piece ska-punk band from Swindon, Wiltshire, UK. Comprising of Martin Montier (Guitar) Matt Dennehy (Bass) and Aidan ONeill (Drums) with their roots and influences from every aspect of ska and punk. Late 2008 see them release their first E.P. OH YEAH!! and soon after they went on to build their foundations and breathe new life into the South West scene playing mostly local shows. Slagerij then went on to record their first self titled and self produced studio album in 2010, expanding their fanbase and pushing further afield across the UK, also achieving a brief stint on a Westcoast USA tour playing in places like Las Vegas, Los Angeles and San Francisco. 2011 saw the release of their 2nd self produced album Swim for Shore and a sold out hometown release show with more tour dates and various support slots with bigger bands at bigger venues.

The trio have honed their skills over these last few years with solid touring and exciting live performances up and down the country working with some big band names from past and present at some of the countrys most reputable and prestigious venues from the toilet circuit"-The Fleece (Bristol) King Tuts (Glasgow) 100 Club (London) - all the way up to the larger capacity touring venues - The Ritz (Manchester), Rock City (Nottingham) various 02 Academys (Bristol, Birmingham, Liverpool, Oxford, London Islington, Shepherds Bush Empire) - and literally EVERYWHERE else in between!

Slagerij have had the pleasure of touring with and sharing the stage with lots of legendary bands including the likes of Dead Kennedys, Anti-Nowhere League, UK Subs, Buzzcocks, Stiff Little Fingers and more up to date ska-punk bands like Big D & The Kids Table, Random Hand, Assorted Jelly Beans, The Skints, Mustard Plug, Spunge, 4ft Fingers and tons more to list!

Everything these guys have ever gained has gone straight back into what they love doing and it definitely shows, always winning the crowds over. If its high energy, big hitting sounds you are looking for then look no further than Slagerij and strap yourself in for one hell of an infectious in-your-face ska-punk ride!

Orange:

Formed in Los Angeles by Zak Glosserman (drums) and British-born Joe Dexter (vocals, bass) - both still in their early teens at the time - ORANGE effortlessly blend punk-rock sensibilities with infectious pop melodies, a fusion that caught the attention of Rancid front-man

Tim Armstrong, who quickly snapped the band up to his influential Hellcat Records label. Two albums, Welcome To The World Of… and Escape From LA followed, introducing ORANGE to an appreciative punk-rock community and earning the band support slots on tours with punk heavy hitters including UK Subs, The Misfits and The Adicts and Rancid. Orange also played three years on the legendary Vans Warped Tour throughout America.

The Gavin MacKillop (Sugarcult, MXPX, PIL) - produced Phoenix album followed and saw the band take a step further into the pop-punk arena, a genre that clearly suits their optimistic lyrics, anthemic choruses and killer hooks. The addition of new band members Perry Ladish and Alec Gomez has allowed them to broaden their influences and stretch their musical ability to create music that has instant appeal without losing any of its punk edge. In fact, Gomez has engineered some hit albums from a diverse array of artists including Oasis, Hole and LCD Soundsystem. Their second single from Phoenix, Everything I Need was seen on rotation in the UK on Scuzz TV.

Following the bands next hit single Revolution, which is the theme to the Cartoon Network series Generation Rex and its accompanying video game, the band toured the UK with Zebrahead and MC Lars, followed by more UK runs with bands such as Spunge, Bowling For Soup and Reel Big Fish over the following 2 years. The incredible audience response and rapidly growing fan base prompted the band to return to Britain in Summer 2012 for another extensive headlining tour, which once again showcased their boundless energy, raw talent and effortless connection with their audiences who regularly turn up to their gigs dressed from head to toe in orange and are seen constantly sporting the bands signature hand gesture The Orange Salute as well as chanting their own tagline Viva La Orange.
