Bristol based Defacto play original rock featuring strong lyrics and soaring choruses guaranteed to get any audience on it's feet - and they usually do!

SYTE AND THE SOUND
They got a thing not everyones got a thing. Of all the acts claiming to dynamically meld genres, few actually achieve it. Smart MCing tops rocked out guitars, crashing drums, low slung funk bass and brilliantly sweeping electronic orchestration. Venue Magazine 2009 Syte and the Sound are a six piece live band from Bristol, inspired by all the music theyve been weaned on since childhood and capable of revitalising the most tired soul. Combining the excitement of traditional instrumentalism with the freedom of samples and synthesisers, complimented by intricate, thoughtful and forceful lyricism, SaTS serve up an enigmatic, eclectic dish of slow cooked soul food that will amaze and inspire.
OLD SCHOOL TIE
We are named Old School Tie but quite often we refer to ourselves as OST which is the name of a swedish cheese. In the band we have a Dan who is related to Wolverene and plays the drums like a mean bear. Then we have Mike who dreams up dreams on the keys and guitars. We have a Chris who plays some seriously phat (yes with a ph) basslines and can be heard at night communicating with bats in low sub-bass tones. And finally James who is the hairy one who uses many effects on his guitar to create mating calls and he also uses his vocals to add some words to the sound that is OST.
THE LUNARIANS
Lunarians are a six piece outfit hailing from New York City, Manchester, Leeds are The Cotswolds. They create wild and dreamy post rock, combining psychedlic guitars with danceable beats. They are presently recording their first EP. Their VJ, Beaucoup Visuals, has done shows with Annie Mac and Cagedbaby. Their track Pink Metal has been played internationally by Dj duo Deepgroove.
THE MOTHERLOAD
We like grooves, riffs, hooks, fun and most similar forms of emphatic expression.
And a touch of soulfulness, storytelling, and reflection.
We've played with Arctic Monkeys, The Ordinary Boys, The Noisettes and many more.
And we've featured in the Dirty Sanchez film.

LIF B4 INSANITY
Music played is a variety of rock/blues covers focusing mainly on the classic british invasion style of the late 1960's and 1970's, bands like Cream, Hendrix, Rory Gallagher and Free. There are also some covers by modern bands that have similar influences - Joe Bonamassa, John Mayer etc, and a healthy dose of Texan flare mixed in - think ZZ Top & SRV.

THE ASHUN
Hard Rock, Blues band from Swindon Wiltshire , We have a new drummer that going to take us into some gigs with conveyance of how we want to sound as a band . now the gigs are coming thick and fast , and the recordings are coming along nicely we should have The Ashun's album out soon Pills and Thrill's . our songs are variable and not to similar to each other but with the same set of sounds.
SION
Sion are an unsigned five piece rock band from south England, the place of all good farmers. It would suffice to say the band know their crops. They have toured across Europe and the States & recently experienced near death, due to the tour bus hanging over a cliff edge in Spain. That was not nearly as fun as when they drove in to a nudist camp. (Shortly after they decided it would be best if they changed driver for a while). They have played in over 14 countries, won an unsigned competition to play at O2 Wireless Festival then asked back to play the next year. Sion have played with such bands as Oceansize, People in Planes, Foals, JR Ewing and QOTSA.

EP launch night for Swindon singer Natasha Griffiths- supported by the Lighterthief house band.
Natasha has been singing with the Lighterthief collective since The Swindon Shuffle 2008- this gig is to launch her own EP - produced by Stu Rowe.
THE SHUDDERS
Fuelled by a mutual fascination for rum, folk rock, pirates and historical accuracy, The Shudders formed in 2007. The next two years saw the band play all over the country, including such prestigious venues as the London Borderline, Oxford Jericho Tavern, Bristol Fleece, Southampton Hobbit, and headline festival stages including the Radio 1 Big Weekend Unofficial Fringe Festival and the Swindon Shuffle (the UKs biggest unsigned music festival). They have also shared the stage with such bands as The Young Republic, Ox and Chris Helme (Seahorses).
The band gained a reputation for stunning live shows and developed an unusually strong set of songs that combine their love of a catchy tune with three part vocal harmonies and continually changing rhythms.
Its time once again for the Vic Karaoke competition, last years final was one of the entertainment highlights of the year.
Always a fun event make sure you get involved, its not everyday you see a metal head with a mowhawk singing the Wurzels.
Heats are held in the bar at the Vic and The Grand Final is held in the venue with full video backdrops and an amazing sound system.
Might even get the smoke machine out again (Tonight Matthew i am going to be) i think you get the picture.

Hello and thanks for visiting the Chris Dunn Project. At the moment the project just comprises of me, but hopefully it will expand in the not too distant future. Meanwhile here's a little about myself. Until I went to university in 2005 I was playing classic rock covers in a pub band. When I came back in the summer of 2008 my tastes had completely changed. Its amazing how moving away from home can completely change your outlook as well as clear out your wallet. Suffice to say since then I have endeavoured to make music that is varied and interesting to listen to as well as entertaining
NICK FELIX
I Have been playing guitar about 10 years and writing the same amount of time. am also in a newish band. Me, my Brother Paul and Friend Dom are in a Trio, we all sing and play various songs acoustic as The Hippie Club I listen to all sorts of music, Whatever sounds good, Music is an art and people especialy today are free to express themselves however.
The Vibrators produced without doubt two of the finest pop Punk albums in Pure Mania and V2 along with some classic singles along the way.
Yet the band have always, like the Stranglers, been outside the 'Punk' circle of recognition. Their credibility was under scrutiny from the 100 Club Punk Festival with the Sex Pistols to signing with pop producer Mickie Most.
But the Vibrators were a great Punk band, and more than just a ramalama 3 chord thrash, with tunes and songs a plenty. Enjoy

The format of the night is as follows.........
David arrives, sets up, and sticks on a cool acoustic music cd. He leave`s a form out which people put their names on to play 15 min slots. If there are less people, you can do longer. We will call people's names out to get up and play. Anyone is welcome to use the house guitar, but you can bring your own if you want to. All the PA and Backline is set up. You just have to play, sing, tell jokes / poems, or whatever, in your 15minutes (which is 3 songs). The night ends at 11pm, and everyone goes home fulfilled / drunk / sober etc.
